Pets ~ Quotes 6.24.12

The difference between friends and pets is that friends we allow into our company, pets we allow into our solitude.  ~Robert Brault.

Ever consider what pets must think of us?  I mean, here we come back from a grocery store with the most amazing haul - chicken, pork, half a cow.  They must think we're the greatest hunters on earth!  ~Anne Tyler, The Accidental Tourist

An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language.  ~Martin Buber

Lots of people talk to animals.... Not very many listen, though.... That's the problem.  ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

Have a great Sunday and Happy Reading!!!!

Morality is the best of all devices for leading mankind by the nose.  ~Friedrich Nietzsche, The Antichrist

You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment unless you trust enough.  ~Frank Crane

Father's Day

Give my dad a power tool and you'll make him happy. Growing up half the garage was wood working tools, the other half automotive. So I'm pretty verse in tools and what they do.

The only thing that made my dad angry was if you used his tools and didn't put them back. No leaving the hammer out on the back lawn because you decided to drag it out there for...something.

Which dad's angry wasn't really angry -- until his ears went red, then you just ran like hell LOL. Trust me not one of us wanted to see that happen :-)

My dad's the bestest dad in the whole wide world!!
He's always been there for support, emotional and otherwise. Not that my dad is this some big talker, because he's not. But if you had a problem and told him, you listen to what he says. Because when he does talk, his words hold a whole lot of meaning.

We talk every Sunday (hey that's today!! YAY ME I get to talk to my daddy!!) and he always asks, how everything's going, how are the books doing, do you need anything. Yeppers, that's my dad.

I dedicated A Warrior's Longing to my dad, even though I told him not to read it, (Come on, that's my dad he can't be reading that stuff hehehe) But I let my mom, *scratching head* figure that one out. *Shrugs shoulders* Done, next... *Grins* I am working on one of my earlier writings, formatting, editing, revising, it's a historical western romance that I'm hoping to have finished before the year is up so I can get it out there to a publisher. I want my grandmother and my dad to read something I've written. :-)

The man is 67 years old and still works like crazy! He's lucky if he's home with my step-mom once a month. He travels everywhere with his company and works on or installs their machines.

What I know to be fact though, is when he does retire, he won't do it fully. Nope, not my dad. He gets bored to easily. His idea of a day off once was to build a small bridge to go over the stream out back lol. Then one day he built up the well house, and then he decided to install a brand new fence around patio and pool on the side of the house. Ya, my dad doesn't know the meaning of sitting down, until a Nascar race or football game come on. :-)

I LOVE YOU DAD!!!!

I hope everyone out there has a wonderful day today!! Happy Sunday and happy reading!!

Here's a few quotes I found...

Any man can be a father.  It takes someone special to be a dad.  ~Author Unknown

One father is more than a hundred Schoolemasters.  ~George Herbert, Outlandish Proverbs, 1640

There are three stages of a man's life:  He believes in Santa Claus, he doesn't believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus.  ~Author Unknown

Destined to Mate - Under $2

That's right, UNDER 2 Bucks!!
You can't beat that price in today's economy!

A feline mated to a werewolf?

As a Chimera, half lioness/half human, Alexis Xanthis, has never
released the beast within. Until she meets Lykan Alpha, Morgan LeVey.
Being near him triggers a powerful need to mate, but is Morgan strong enough to dominate her feline side and still handle the human half with a gentle hand? And will the powers that be allow it?

Leaning in, he kissed her softly, sensuously. His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her close. Alexis’s pulse pounded in her ears as he claimed her mouth, nudging her lips open with his tongue, exploring and caressing her with its velvety softness. His other hand trailed down her back to the flare of her hip.

Nipping her bottom lip with his canine, he marked her with his scent, then suckled until the small wound stopped smarting.
“Wear your hair down for me.”

Alexis opened heavy eyes as his broad back rounded the corner. Lifting her hand, she touched the spot on her lips where he’d nipped her. The muscles of her pussy tightened with want, and her panties dampened. “Ah,crap.”
Review from Publisher website:

Fighting like cats and dogs has nothing on 'Mating like cats and dogs!'
~ Destined to Mate is a fast paced page turner that offers more than the
average erotic romance. Forces of two different species of shifters,
vamps and even fey folk, Destined to Mate delivers one hot enjoyable
read. Ms. Salo talent shouldn't be missed. If you haven't read this
shifter delight, then you, my friend, are missing out. One word of
warning... Don't plan on doing anything until this story is DONE!

Destined To Mate: This was a book that definitely had it all: great characters, conflicts galore, and plenty of heat.
Alexis leads a complicated life being a Chimera, half lioness and half human. Finding a man to love and be loved by is tricky business.
Morgan has a difficult life as well, being the Alpha leader of his werewolf pack. He needs a mate, but a feline?

Honesty & Lies Quotes 6.6.12

If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.  ~Mark Twain

Who lies for you will lie against you.  ~Bosnian Proverb

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.  ~Abraham Lincoln

Make yourself an honest man, and then you may be sure there is one less rascal in the world.  ~Thomas Carlyle

A half truth is a whole lie.  ~Yiddish Proverb

I find all these true. Why is it, someone would prefer to lie about a situation instead of just being honest? It boggles my mind. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a lie about getting out of trouble. I've noticed how people like to 'boast' about themselves and you know it's a lie, especially when you question them three days later and they give you a different story LOL.  It really is quiet discouraging when you think about it though.

Exercise

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.
~Plato

I've recently joined a brand new gym that just opened locally. I love it! I went in yesterday and was there for an hour and fifteen minute work out for cardio and then some toning.  I made sure I didn't get so sore I'd be like..."yeah, three days to recover, hmmm do I really want to go back?"

I took my time, did my stretches and workouts and left feeling GOOD. :-) with some sweat in there LOL.

Now, I've lost twenty-six pounds over the last year with a low carb, low sugar diet and have hit my limit, meaning, I'm not losing anymore weight, I've plateaued people. Aahhh Boogers, right!

I knew this was going to happen, So it was time to change it up and hit the gym for toning as well. Happy that a gym opened closer to me when I needed it, and I received the lesser rate for signing on before they opened. Haha, Love it!!  :-).

Just hitting 41, I'm feeling great that I've lost so much weight and will be continuing to my primary goal and toning! Besides, I have a wedding to get in shape for!! YAY!!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday out there and Happy Reading!!

I had to add this one too, LOL. I laughed my butt off, because it's true, so true!!

The only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions, running down their friends, side-stepping responsibility, and pushing their luck!
