4.5 Cherries - The Devil Himself Review

Luca has lived a long and sheltered life. Dubbed by many as
“The Jersey Devil”, he resides peacefully and alone in the Barren
Woods, where no one can find him. It’s a lonely existence, but necessary for one such as he.
Until photographer Chandra Burke comes along. After saving
her life, Luca feels obligated to keep her with him until she heals. But as hours with her turn to days, and then weeks, he finds he wants to keep her for an entirely different reason—for him.
Can Chandra and Luca overcome Luca’s view of himself,
a pesky wizard, and a possessive demon to be together? Or will the Fates allow love to slip past Luca once again?

... I was intrigued by this story from the very beginning. Luca
stole my heart with his insecurities and doubts. He was a perfect example of why people shouldn’t judge others based on their looks. As for Chandra, I found her very likeable and thought she was very accepting especially once she learned about Luca and his life. They made a lovely pair as both taught each other about love, trust, and acceptance.

I really enjoyed the author’s unique approach. This wasn’t an ordinary boy-meets-girl story as it featured a creature that some might find hard to love, yet the author was able to humanize the beast in the story and make me the reader, fall for him as well. I found the author’s use of an imperfect hero refreshing and interesting.

This was a very touching love story that I would definitely recommend to those looking for something a bit different.

Excerpt

He noticed her head tilting toward the direction of his voice, and his brows arched as she lifted out of the water enough to tease him before going back down. “Are you flirting with me?”
“Enticing you to come and join me,” she replied as she rolled in the water, bringing her front into view. “Is it working?”
The ripples in the water vibrated against her as he landed. His hands moved to her waist, drawing her to him. “You tell me,” he breathed as he brought his mouth down to hers.
Her arms lifted around his neck, his soft fur rubbing against her nakedness.
Luca’s tongue invaded her mouth, kissing her deeply as his hands roamed her body. Luca groaned as he waded to a shallow spot, sat down and brought her onto his lap, feeling her body tremble as her bottom touched his hard cock. She turned on his lap to straddle him, moaning as his touch became more aggressive, his hands running up her sides, the light touch of his claws making her tremble again. Luca’s lips parted, panting with lust for her.
“Luca,” she whispered.
His mouth moved to her neck, leaving nips in its wake. Her hands moved up his shoulders to his head and into his hair, her moan causing his thick cock to twitch as he rubbed it against her clit. Luca groaned loudly when her fingers grazed the base of his horns at the top of his head. “Don’t,” he rasped.
“Why?” She breathed heavily.
“It’s a pleasure point.” Moaning as she wrapped her fingers around them, Luca lifted his mouth back to hers. Thrusting his tongue in roughly, he moved his hand to her breast, and her body shook with uncontrollable pleasure.
“Oh God, Luca,” she gasped.

Have a great Sunday and Happy Reading!!

A feline mated to a werewolf? As a Chimera, half lioness/half human, Alexis Xanthis, has never released the beast within. Until she meets Lykan Alpha, Morgan LeVey. Being near him triggers a powerful need to mate, but is Morgan strong enough to dominate her feline side and still handle the human half with a gentle hand? And will the powers that be allow it?

Destined to Mate mixes a delicious combination of mythology, the paranormal and some hot loving sure to thrill a reader on many levels. Alexis is a heroine with a deadly secret. She’s also adorable, spunky, and an amazing mix of charming innocence and old world knowledge. She is also the owner of a book store. Imagine that. What I really liked about her are her kick butt abilities which totally outshine the guys, much to their chagrin.

All the guys except one, that is. Morgan is an alpha wolf. And he’s the best part of being an alpha – not overbearing and irritatingly autocratic but protective, responsible and fair. He also has being dominant in a relationship down pat – it’s a very seductive and potent level.Even when Alexis throws him for a loop he still doesn’t get in a snit over it. He is so very well put together; I didn’t have to deal with any male ego trips. What a relief.

One of the things that I personally look for in a lycan/paranormal romance is if there is bite. I find biting in passion between the hero and heroine very erotic and Ms. Salo nailed it. But I am not going to tell you who was biting who, because that would be telling. There’s no way I want to diffuse those moments, which for me, were very sensual and satisfying.

The secondary characters were fun. Val was interesting and a good sounding board for Alexis. There’s a term for their relationship but no way am I writing that here. Rafe simply cracked me up. What a unique spin for a second-in-command. Usually they are about as strong as the alpha, but poor Rafe has a very human and irritating thing that happens to him. I could not help but giggle the times it happened.

Alexis’ mom is a beaut. Wait until you meet her.

Destined to Mate is sure to entertain and excite, evoke interest and lust, and delivers a well written story with a character driven plot which delightfully showcases the pursuit of love in all its furry splendor.

First off, this is an amazing story. The fast paced plot and the multitude of characters will hook you with just a few pages. Even though there are quit a few characters, you do not lose the storyline. They actually enchance it. The dialogue with all the characters can be fast, ferious, humorous, and definitely entertaining. The sex scences are not for the faint of heart. They are steamy, sensual, and very hot. This is definitely a book I would recommend. I'm hoping this author decides to make this into a series.

The Devil Himself has taken 4.5 CHERRIES!!

Lilac at Whipped Cream has given TDH 4.5 Cherries!! WOOT!!

I was intrigued by this story from the very beginning and I longed to know more about these fascinating characters. Luca stole my heart with his insecurities and doubts. He was a perfect example of why people shouldn’t judge others based on their looks.

As for Chandra, I found her very likeable and thought she was very accepting especially once she learned about Luca and his life. They made a lovely pair as both taught each other about love, trust, and acceptance.I really enjoyed the author’s unique approach to a classic love story.

This wasn’t an ordinary boy-meets-girl story as it featured a creature that some might find hard to love, yet the author was able to humanize the beast in the story and make me, the reader, fall for him as well despite what some might consider imperfections.

I found the author’s use of an imperfect hero, at least when it comes to looks, refreshing and interesting. This was a very touching love story that I would definitely recommend to those looking for something a bit different.
