Honesty & Lies Quotes 6.6.12

If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.  ~Mark Twain

Who lies for you will lie against you.  ~Bosnian Proverb

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.  ~Abraham Lincoln

Make yourself an honest man, and then you may be sure there is one less rascal in the world.  ~Thomas Carlyle

A half truth is a whole lie.  ~Yiddish Proverb

I find all these true. Why is it, someone would prefer to lie about a situation instead of just being honest? It boggles my mind. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a lie about getting out of trouble. I've noticed how people like to 'boast' about themselves and you know it's a lie, especially when you question them three days later and they give you a different story LOL.  It really is quiet discouraging when you think about it though.
