Down sick ... blah

Blah is right!! I started a great new 'day' job today and what starts happening ... *Drum roll please*

I start feeling the sickness, nope not Dope's Down with the Sickness :-) sillys.

But the flu, cold aggravating body aching stuffy head sickness that I really did not need!! AND THEN, AND THEN...I get home to find out that my son is  ... boom boom boom ...sick too.

Thank you Uncle K (you know who you are - giving you the stink eye man.) who brought this wonderful little present from NY, LOL, and passing on this Christmas gift, although if I could give it back I would, and i don't think anyone would blame me!! Hahahahaha

So it's chicken noodle soup for me, some cold/flu meds and off to bed, along with my puppy so I can hug him and cuddle him and get a good night's rest. :-)

 Sleep well all!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Yes, I said Merry Christmas. I know some will say, why didn't she just put ' happy holidays?'. Well because I celebrate Christmas and being politically correct all the time is a pain in my butt. Especially when I like to say it plainly, but use the moderator in my head to speak politely

So which ever holiday you celebrate, I'm hoping you have a grand one!!

I plan on spending time with family and eating lots of great food!

On the writing end...

The second manuscript for The Other Kin Series has been sent to my publisher - Whiskey Creek Press Torrid and I am currently working on the third manuscript for the series with the fourth plotting in the back of my head. LOL.

Again, Merry Christmas to all and read lots!!

Quotes about Children

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance. ~Franklin P. Jones

Children make your life important. ~Erma Bombeck

A child can ask questions that a wise man cannot answer. ~Author Unknown

Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.  ~Neil Postman, The Disappearance of Childhood (introduction), 1982

A three year old child is a being who gets almost as much fun out of a fifty-six dollar set of swings as it does out of finding a small green worm.  ~Bill Vaughan

Children seldom misquote.  In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.  ~Author Unknown

And Finally, I do believe this is the one I like the best...

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children.  The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted.  The result is unruly children and childish adults.  ~Thomas Szasz

4 out of 4 Stars = AWESOME REVIEW for The Werewolf's Mate

The Werewolf's Mate has everything it takes for a fun and sexy read. It has hunky Lyken, sexy vampires, and bad-ass fairies all living together in peace until an ancient evil threatens not only their town but their very souls Now, an outcast has returned to save them all - and to claim the man she still loves.

I'm a big fan of the paranormal genre and of shifter stories in general. That being said, it was the heroine that stole the thunder in this short story. Kala was one kick-ass Fairy. She protected what was hers. That meant she was willing to go to the mat to defend her mate, her daughter and her town. I also liked the fact that instead of being a vindictive bitch, Kala came back to save the same people who had treated her so badly.

I must say that I was very impressed with the author's writing. The plot was very interesting. The storyline was consistent.

I enjoy the story more when I get to experience not only the POV of the heroine but that of the hero also.
That being said, I still liked the story enough to look forward to a next entry in the series.

"Face Book Friend" What is it??

Ok, so Face Book. We all connect to be out there and meet up with "friends" but what is a "Face Book Friend" to you??

For my author account I have it open to the public. Anyone over the age of 18 can be my friend if they ask, and yes, I do go to their page to "try" and make sure they are 18+. Not that it works all the time because you can only go by what the person has put on their page. Most of my posts are tame although I am an Erotic Romance Author. :-)

Now my personal page is a different matter altogether. I don't allow anyone I don't personally know or want to know my business on as a friend. I love liking or posting to friends comments that I went to high school with and haven't seen in years. Face Book is a great tool to keep people in touch. But just because they may be the friend of my niece, doesn't mean I'm going to friend them if they ask. Nope, I turn them away. If I don't know you or was friendly with you before, why would I friend you? You have no business in my personal stuff. Not that I post wildly about my life (because I don't) LOL.

I'll even un-friend friends and family if they aren't active. Why are you on my friends list, if you aren't going to be friendly??

Now, I know I have several that are just not computer people and if they get on their accounts once every three to six months you're lucky, and I pretty much know who they are and they can stay.

But when you friend me and don't bother replying to my posts on my page or the ones I post on yours...again, why did you friend me?
I'll let it go for about six months and then if there is still no activity, family or not ...You're Gone.
Have I really done this you ask, have I un-friended family members??
                     Answer ...Why yes I have.

And if someone starts getting negative all the time or nasty (That hasn't happened yet) I'll un-friend them. I don't allow negativity or drama in my life and will get rid of any form of it. Family or not, friend or not. It's not worth my peace, to listen (or read) someone being negative about everything or causing so much drama in their own life it tries to ooze into everyone elses.

So what is a "Face Book Friend" to you?? Do you allow just anyone on, just because or are you mindful of your friends?

Do you have seperate accounts for personal in circle family and friends and one to just roam the "Face Book" people lists and invite people you think are "interesting"??

Well what ever you have, good for you, It's your decision and if it works for you then hey, you're an adult. ;-p

Happy Reading to all you awesomes out there and have a great Sunday!!

Thanksgiving/Fall

Ah yes, it's that time of year again, where we sit down eat lots and then try to diet it off, before the Christmas feast. LOL.

Growing up in Massachusetts, my grandfather owned a farm and we  had wild turkeys that lived there and let me tell you, my grandfather made it known to everyone that those turkey's were not to be touched! So as I grew the flock grew and that Tom would strut around like he owned the place. Talk about sanctuary, he knew he was safe LOL.

The one thing I do miss about not being up in New England anymore are the Fall changes. The leaves especially.
There's nothing like the colors in a New England Autumn. I miss those days, but wouldn't move back to TON of snow country unless I had to, LOL.

My plans for Thanksgiving, eating lots and spending time with awesome family and friends!!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!!!

Fall / Winter...in Florida??

Yes, Winter in Florida, although you kinda have to say it like Dr. Who did in the recent episode of ' Dinosaurs--on a spaceship' sort of like, it's here and it's really happening LOL.

So I just had to put the Dr. Who trailer in, so you  could see what I'm talking about LOL. (he says it near the end of the trailer)

The weather's been really nice lately, down in the 50's at night and 70's during the day with a slight cool breeze. Ya, you know...T-shit weather :-) Now I'm guessing we'll probably be in for a harder winter than last year. Maybe a few more nights of freeze warnings and 28 degrees than last year, and I'll have to dress in layers LOL. OK! I'm ready!! Where are my socks? ;-) hehehehe.

Although I've been  here for, geeze 8 or maybe 9 years now, I just can't seem to become acclimated to Florida summers. they are just to hot for this northern girl. Thank you for A/C!!

I know my friends and family up north have already seen snow falling and kudo's to them for shoveling the snow LOL, that's something I'd just rather not do anymore.

So I guess if we lose all electricity across the globe for some reason or another, you know aliens or what not, I'm hiking my butt up to a decent weather state. You know some where not to cold in the winter and not to hot in the summer...is there such a place?? Guess I'll have to start looking ;-)

Hope everyone stays warm where ever you are this Fall/Winter season!!

Take care and read lots!!

Time Change

Do we really need it?? Who cares if it gets dark earlier, that's what happens when we go into winter. But did the one's who came up with this really need to do an hour back for fall and an hour back again for Spring?? Just to get us that 'extra' hour of day light? I know  some theories out there say that if we don't it will toss the season's or something out of balance in years to come. Really...They did just fine before the time change started.

Why you ask, why did she blog about time change--

Well, I'll tell you--

That little love of mine...Elvis (my one year old dachshund) doesn't understand time change or turning back the clock an hour that would (underline would) have given mommy (that's me) an extra hour of sleep. So he's up an rearing to go at our normal or would have been our normal hour.
So, I have to agree with Elvis. Time change is a waste of time, for now I have to go reset all the clocks and my extra hour was shot to the moon and then I lose it in the Spring, just when I'm getting used to it and have to reset the clocks all over again and I still get woken up an hour early. Grrrrr Arrrggg.

I guess the only good thing out of it is I'm up, so more writing can occur :-)

Happy Sunday all and keep reading!!
