Getting my Merrr-maid on -- with nail art

Photos courtesy of Jen Knab

So I went and had my nails done yesterday. My nail artist Jen is awesome!!

We decided to get my Mer on with some Mermaid nails.

I love how being a romance writer can emerge on my nails

My RWA chapter, The Sunshine State Romance Authors have a mermaid on the website as she is our mascot and we refer to our group as Mers.
So I'm really getting my Mer on in several different ways. Us Mers have had some great opportunities come our way, so this Mer is burning the midnight oil with her writing.

I love having beautiful nails, not only are they professional and clean (You really do not want to see my nails under the pink and whites! :-/ yikes! ;-)  ) They do inspire me. I'll be typing away or writing and I'll catch sight of them and be like...that is so cool.

Nail art before my Mer was a butterfly and prior to that was a peacock feather.
I didn't grab a pic of the butterfly, but here's the peacock feather.

You know...it's much harder to take good pictures of your nails by yourself :-/    :-).

I can't wait to see what Jen comes up with next!! She is simply awesome when it comes to nail design.
So if you're in the Mount Dora, FL area and need your nails beautified give her a call at

Happy Easter Sunday all!!
Stay safe and beautiful!!

Fun Drink Friday - The Cape Cod w/ Absolut Vodka

Cape Cod

Ingredients

How to mix

Fill a chilled highball glass with ice cubes.
Add all ingredients. Garnish with lime.

About this drink

The Cape Cod is probably named after the Massachusetts peninsula because they actually grow cranberries there (and the drink contains, well, loads of cranberry juice). But the drink also shares some features with the East-Northern outpost -- the true New Englander knows how to time it for just when the reds match.
As Summer is going to be turning into Fall, one of my favorite times of the year. Here's one of my favorite drinks, The Cape Cod.
... Wait a true New Englander :-/ hell people, I am from New England. Just dish up the drink and hand it over. I don't care about the reds matching, just if it's made right and the flavor is good
Can you tell I am no bartender LOL.
