Camp NANO has STARTED!!!!

Bet you can't guess what I'm doing πŸ˜€

That's right!! I'm doing Camp NANO
Several of my Sunshine State Romance Author Mermaids and I are in a cabin and ready to go!!

I've already been working on JAKE, since midnightπŸ˜ƒ

JAKE is the 3rd story in the Undercover Lover Series.

ZACK is out,
GABE has been turned over to my editor,
and JAKE is on the way!!

When a member of my RWA chapter brought up Camp NANO, I thought it would be a good idea to motivate myself and work on JAKE.

A full time day job sometimes makes it difficult to concentrate on what I really want to do...WRITE😜

And with the passing of my grandmother, I needed something to help give that extra push to my schedule.

So, my plans ...

Have JAKE completed by the end of the month!!

Woooo Hooooo, Let's roll!!

OH, what ... you missed the SNEAK peek inside GABE ...
Guess you weren't on my Newsletter list (hint, hint πŸ˜‰)

~ 1 ~
Two-Thousand years have passes. A lone survivor of Earth awakens to find herself on a Warship with cat shifting aliens and on the run from others who want to dissect her, dead or alive.
Mira Noell awakens to discover she’s the only one left alive from Earth, now a waste dump for the Galaxy.
Tier Chula, Captain of his warship and heir to the Chieftain seat is both awed and frustrated by this rare red headed beauty.
When Mira’s life is in danger from a race who wants to cut her up, Tier protects her. A passionate night brands Mira as his life mate, confusing him as to why his animal side would chose an Earth female.
Until Mira becomes ill and his home is attacked by the same alien race who tried to take her off his warship.

~ 2 ~
When Aleigha Peon’i is taken from within her own gardens, she fears the worse from the Shilan warriors as their planets are once again at odds.
Upon arrival to Rahde Kahn’s home planet, Aleigha discovers she’s been wed to Rahde since her birth and signs the contract, hoping for a better life than the one she had under her father’s rule.
Mixed emotions swarm Rahde, from anger over Aleigha not wanting to stand up for herself, to her being denied how to please him as her mate.  When Rahde announces, he’s sending her back to her father, Aleigha runs in fear of her life.
During her travels, Rahde can hear her weeping as she sleeps from a telepathic bond. It destroys him to know he’s caused her so much pain and reaches out to set things right between them.
On her way back to Rahde, his sister shows up to accompany her, both find danger from a rouge animal intent on making them his meal.
·        Stand alone with a sequel possible.

Recovering from a Loss

As I was driving home yesterday, I heard a voice. It was my auntie, saying. ‘Alright Cindy that’s enough.’

My auntie passed a little more than a month ago, and it really hit me hard. Then a medical issue with my son, where he lost consciousness in the doctor’s office, went down and hit his head. After three hours in the emergency room by ambulance, he’s ok, no concussions or anything to that nature.

The 10K they charged is another blog!πŸ˜–

So needless to say, I’ve been OFF my A-game. I’ve felt overwhelmed and exhausted, even with my day job.

My auntie was never one to sit around.

So, it’s time to pick myself back up, dust off and pull up my big girl panties and get on the roll, or else she just might ‘Gibbs’ slap me on the back of the head, LOL.
(If you don't watch NCIS, you may not understand that, lol.)

Losing someone very close to you is not easy, no matter if it was sudden or an ongoing illness and for those with other medical issues, like depression, it can feel as though you’re sinking, struggling every day to reach the top and take a breath of air.

So, Yes, my auntie! I heard you! I love you and I’m regrouping!

To do list for today…

·      Finish edits for two short stories releasing in June - get back to editor (before she kicks my butt),
·      Blog (check),
·     Author Newsletter,
·     Calendar to organize my time between; day job, writing, RWA chapter items and personal.
·     Make meatloaf for my Hubs. 😊 He’s going to Omaha for the next few weeks with work.

2nd cup of coffee in front of me, I’m checking out for now to hit my to do list and as always --

7 Days Early for my SSRA meeting LOL

Talk about running early for a meeting.

7 Days Early!!

It takes me about an hour and twenty minutes to get to my monthly RWA chapter meeting with the Sunshine State Romance Authors.

Some may ask, couldn't you find one closer?  Well yes. But SSRA is AWESOME!!

So I made really good time driving had twenty minutes to play with the phone, stare at the birds, people driving by. It's all good.

I look at my clock and it's ten minutes to ten and I start thinking...ok. everyone usually starts arriving by now.

Couple minutes later, I'm like, what, did I come down on the wrong day?

Grab cell phone and get on line to SSRA's website ... YEP!

next meeting flashing 7 Days ... hours ... minutes.

Sigh. Really...pull up my calendar. Yep next week.

I have no idea why I thought it was this week? All calendars point at next week. (I've done this before) I even had my nails done for our mermaid theme. lol. So for two weeks I've been thinking it's on the 17th.
The Fabulous Jen Knab at Capillo Salon in Mount Dora, FL.

I'm like ok, whatever, I scoot over to my grandmother's and she's like, you're early. I look at her calendar. YEP...next Saturday. LOL.
So my Ma and I spent the day together.

It all works out!!

So just so I'm sure ... the next Sunshine State Romance Authors chapter meeting is on Saturday September 24, 2016 at the Homosassa Library in Homosassa, Florida. (In case anyone wold like to attend. 10 AM our general meeting and then our workshop.

As you can see above we have a cup of hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream.
My son is awesome!!

Also used a gift from yesterday's holiday party with my RWA chapter one of the members made for everyone. Homemade bath salts. :-)  Loved it!!

Made pork chops for dinner, then worked on some decorations for the Christmas tree.

It was a good day to relax and do nothing...well almost nothing LOL.

New Years Goals = SUCCESS!!

Update on my goals from New Years...

The treadmill and calorie counting are working excellent!!
Since January 4th, 2015 I have lost ...
9 lbs.
Can you say "Psyched!!"

For the most part, I've been pretty good. I do have desert but make sure I stay within my calorie limits for the day and occasionally have a cheat date, like last night.

My husband treated me to Outback Steakhouse for our date night and well, I just can't say no to a blooming onion,
and I'm still down 9 lbs :-)

I'm using the app, LoseIt! that I down loaded on to my Nook.

My other goal was to re-instate my RWA membership and join a local chapter to help advance my career as a writer and if you've been following my blog, you know that I have done both.
I was on my own for such a long time. It's good to have friends who are going through the same things I am or who have so they can mentor and help because they've already been there.
A good quote was given at our last monthly meeting in January...
'Our Tool Box is Never Full'
I agree with this completely. No matter what field we work in or just in life, we are always learning.

And don't forget if you can make it and if there are any seats still left, the Sunshine State Romance Authors is sponsoring a writers workshop on February 21st, at the Homosassa State Wildlife Park in Homosassa, Florida.
It is a paid workshop.
If interested please stop by the SSRA website:

Advancing My Success as an Author !!

Chapter # 225

YES!!!! I am a member!!!! Finally I have found the most awesome group of folks to help support, focus, chat, cry, clap, cheer, nudge, and laugh with me and my writing, to make it the career I've been looking for!!!!

SSRA is an official chapter of

To which I joined in 2006 ... WOW that was a long time ago, and reinstated my membership because I want to take my writing to the next level and as I mentioned above, I've found the folks to help me make my career what it can be!!
(especially help with my grammar & punctuation)  tee hee :-)

I found SSRA after connecting with current chapter President Dylan Newton on Google+. We connected several times over about a nine month time period and I finally made my way down to attend my first meeting as a visitor.
I was impressed by the comradery of both published and non-published authors, and the warm welcome a new comer received.

Now you can visit twice, but after that you have to make up your mind whether you want to become a member of not.
I knew after my first visit
(You do need to provide membership with RWA in order to join the chapter.)

So if you're interested in writing and you're in the Homosassa, FL. Area the meetings are typically on the 4th Saturday of every month at the public library.
You can find the meeting list on the SSRA website.

For February though, there is a Workshop on the 21st at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park.
This is a paid writer's workshop titled,
Which Publishing Path is Right for You...
Know Before You Submit.
with multi-published author Loretta C. Rogers
and will be held from 9am - 4pm.
Registration deadline is: February 18th, 2015.
To register go to:

P.S. The price goes up on February 1st.

Hope everyone has a great day and I look forward to meeting anyone who can attend!!

New Year Goals -- RWA...

I hope everyone had a safe and happy ringing in of the new year this past week!

Although I was a little under the weather, I had a great time with my family!

In the last four days since the new year started I've already accomplished two of my goals I've set for myself.

1)  Application submitted to become a member of RWA (Romance Writers of America) ...again :-)
I was a member in 2006 - 2008 I believe, and now that I found a great chapter in my old stomping grounds, I'm all geared up :-)

2)  Obtain a treadmill and start walking three times a day.
So far I've been on it twice a day ... Hey it's not easy after not being on one for two years, even though I walk everyday at my day job :-/ huh.
LOL, oh well It's all good
