Fun Drink Friday - FรœNF Wines

FรœNF Wines

When I go for a red wine, I like sweet. The Funf Sweet red is a close second of my favs.
This wine will also go nicely with the Cannellini Bruschetta from Wednesday, as its light flavors will not over power the flavors of the appetizer.

Now, yes and you know it, if you grab a white wine to drink, I'd go with a Riesling

Again, the flavors will not over power one another.

I do like the

FรœNF Wines

and can't wait to try their Moscato!!

Book Spotlight & Guest Blogger - A Celtic Heart by: Joseph Scott

A collection of nature themed poetry and prose by Joseph W. Scott. It has a "New Age" feel for an old world tradition of reverence and passion for our environment. A resident of Massachusetts, Joseph W. Scott has published three books of poetry, from which many of these works have been selected, and was nominated for Amateur Poet of the Year in 2003 by the American Poetry Society. A small percent of the proceeds from this book will go toward protecting our wildlife and their habitat.

Good Morning Joseph and welcome to my blog. Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

I grew up on a small farm in Massachusetts.  I am a Veteran of both the Army and the Air Force.  I currently work as an Avionics Technician for the United States Air Force.  Avionics is what we call all the electronic fight systems in an aircraft.

I studied wildlife and forestry conservation and volunteer for The National Audubon society in trail clean ups.  I’ve been married to my wife Heather for a little more than 15 years and have three children.

That's awesome!! Thank you so much for your service of this great country and continued service in Avionics!

For my readers who are saying, hey you're both from Massachusetts. Yes, Joe and I know each other. We attended the same technical high school and were in the same trade. Electronics.

Back to A Celtic Heart. Joseph, can you tell us a little more about your book and your inspiration behind the making of it.

“A Celtic Heart” is a combination of my first three books:  Shades of Summers Past, The Forest Through, and The Romance and the Tragedies.

I do not want to say it is a “best of” but more a Celtic oriented themed book of me.  I wanted something that summed me up; the essence of my work.

I am very happy with the result.  It is all three rolled into one: Memories and a nature loving romantic.

Three is a magic number they say.  It has been my number since, well, as long as I can remember; maybe because I am the third child in my family.  I have worn that number since I was a child in all the sports teams I have played for so I felt it was fitting to roll the three books into one.

I am inspired by the natural world.  The wilderness, the oceans, the mountains, just everything about the Earth is awe-inspiring.

I find my muse along a brook in the middle of the woods or on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean.  I humble myself before the majesty of nature and in the process I find myself.  I’m not sure if it’s my “Scots-Irish” blood that draws me to the traditions of the Celts but in my book “A Celtic Heart”, it was my intent to try and pass along some of that tradition while also helping others to maybe find their own peace.

That is truly inspiring!! Joseph, thank you so much for blogging with me today!! Before you go, can you tell the readers, What is your favorite place to write? On Earth and Off ๐Ÿ˜Š

There is a spot in the woods near where I grew up.  Three fields and a small wooded patch where a brook runs and that makes the most amazing sounds.  There is a crab-apple tree in the middle of one of the fields that is enormous and if you read my book, well there you are.  Many of my poems are from that spot.

“Off Earth,” the moon.

Cool Beans!! Again, Joe thanks for stopping by!! Say hi to Heather and the kids for me, stay warm up there and Merry Christmas!!

Favorite Writing Place

I have an office in my house just for my writing. It was the one thing I asked for when the house was being built.
(well actually one of three ๐Ÿ˜, the other two were an island in my kitchen and a soaking tub. Hubs said ok to all ๐Ÿ’–)

That way I can get away from all the hub bub going on and concentrate. Whether it's video game noise or someone's binge watching Star Trek Voyager.๐Ÿ˜œ

I can go in, shut my door, put on my playlist and go to town.

I even have a little sign my mother-in-law gave me that says:
The fairies are in the garden working
= No entrance. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And I call my office, 'the office'. LOL. I'll say to puppy, Ok, let's go to the office, and he runs right down the hallway, skids around the corner and up into his chair.

Yes, Elvis has his own chair in the office. Otherwise he'd be sitting behind me all day ๐Ÿ˜‹.

I call it 'the office' well, because it is, LOL, and when I leave for the day job, I say, "I'm leaving for 'work'."

Elvis is not a fan of mommy going to 'work'๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I even brought home an old antique office chair, it needs to be worked on, but it's great!!

When I'm just puttering around and have something on the stove, like today, I'll bring the laptop out to the living room.

But after Sunday lunch and watching my weekly addiction of Naruto ๐Ÿ˜€ I'll head to the office.

So, lunch is coming soon and my DVR'd Naruto, Later peeps.

Long hours and Exhaustion

So, this was me, literally at work Friday.

After flying out on a 7 am flight to Tennessee for a conference on Tuesday and back in on Friday morning. I decided to go home and try to get some sleep. LOL.
Yeah not.

I'm sure everyone has been there.

I'm still exhausted. Saturday was appointments to catch up on stuff and I'm supposed to be heading out here in a few, but I'm not even dressed. ๐Ÿ˜ No, seriously, not even dressed. Still in PJ's with coffee #2, and hair flying everywhere.

I just want to stay home.

Not only to rest but I have major announcement coming in January!
๐Ÿ˜€

So I'm pushing my limits to get stuff done.
and
NO, I'm not spilling until January. ๐Ÿ˜œ

But if you want to be one of the first to know...
sign up for my newsletter, they'll find out first. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’‹

Deadlines, 2 jobs and a board position defiantly take a toll on the home and family life.
But I know it will all be worth it in the end and so does my fam.

My grandfather always said, if you want something, work for it.
No one's going to give it to you.
(Along with, they ain't worth a piss hole in the snow and they're slower than cold molasses in the winter time - LOL, but that's another blog ๐Ÿ˜›)

So, I'm working for it and I will achieve my goals.

Then I'm going to sleep for a week! LOL.

So Stay Spicy and read lots my friends!

Life after Irma

Irma left me without power for 6 days.
Blogging and other power needed items were out.
I was able to get onto FaceBook with my cell and post a couple of times.

I know there are folks still without power and I feel for them!

This hurricane knocked my area of Florida around pretty dang good.

Thankfully we didn't suffer much damage, hubs was able to fix it right up.
We did lose about $300.00 worth of food between the freezer and fridge. ๐Ÿ˜”
And, I did make a demand on the poor man.

I want a generator. He agreed.

During the last few days without power I took a note from my cat and started sleeping on the kitchen floor. It's ceramic tile and was sooooooo much COOLER ๐Ÿ˜‹

I hope everyone made it through ok!! no injuries, no loss of life!!

If you had damages to your home or personal property, was misplaced or without power for 5 days or more, you need to go to:

First put your zip code in and they will tell you if you were in the impact area. If you were fill out the FEMA application!

You may be entitled to some funds to help you get back on your feet.

Staying inside and ready.

To the rest of my Florida peeps.
Please stay safe and evacuate if needed.

Book Spotlight - From Junk Food to Joy Food - Joy Bauer

So,this is what happens when I'm home sick from the day job.
I watch my food shows ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was watching The Chew and saw Joy Bauer come on and cut calories like she had a Samurai sword, yet you still ate very close to what the items where.

So, I bought the book.

This is the first recipe my son made out of it and I have to say,
It was YUMMY!!!!
And, we saved on calories!! How is that not awesome!!!!

I'm not going to give you the recipe. You have to go by the book for that.
But look at the difference in calories!!
Holy Hen S*it Batman!!
And again, YUMMY!!

I bought my book off Amazon, but it's at all major book retail outlets.
